Masham is only 20 minutes from the A1 and is a great base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.

The town itself has a splendid market place with a number of independent cafes for great brews, pubs and shops including a local chip ‘ole! in addition there is a well stocked CO-OP for any provisions.

The legendary Theakston and Black Sheep Breweries are close by should you wish to pop into the visitor centre or book a tour for the full experience.

For family adventures there is Lightwater Family Adventure Park (6mi), Thorpe Perrow Arboretum Wildlife Park (6mi) and the quirky Forbidden Corner in Middleham(12mi).

Swinton Park Estate is nearby and boasts 20000 acres of land which has permissive paths to explore the local countryside. In the grounds there is a stunning historic castle hotel which is surrounded by parkland and gardens. They offer afternoon teas and indulgent treats such as Spa Days!

Masham has local bus routes to other places of interest such as Ripon and Richmond.
